Seaflex wins Golden Cleat award

During this year’s ICOMIA conference in Dubai, Seaflex CEO Lars Brandt was honored with the Golden Cleat award for Sustainability and Innovation.

The ICOMIA World Marinas Conference 2021 (IWMC) held at The Address Dubai Marina saw the participation of key industry leaders, attracting over 200 delegates from 24 countries, making it a truly global event, despite the present Covid-19 travel restrictions. The event played a significant role in reuniting the marina industry, as well as equipping participants with the knowledge needed to embrace the challenges in the years ahead.

During the conference, visitors were invited to visit several high-profile marinas in the area, such as the prestigious Palm Jumeirah, which was installed with Seaflex in 2006.

At the gala dinner, which was hosted by P&O Marinas on the distinguished RMS Queen Elisabeth 2, the jury awarding Lars and Seaflex with the Golden Cleat award provided the following reason for the nomination and award:

In evaluating the candidates for this award, the judges have carefully considered whether the candidate has shown industry leadership and innovation over a sustained period and delivered tangible results in sustainability and environmental protection. Careful consideration was also given to how the award will not only be recognition of the past efforts of the individual but provide encouragement and inspiration to the winner and the broader industry to pursue innovation and technologies that put our industry in at the forefront of sustainability, innovation and environmental protection in the future. The judges recognise that Lars Brandt has developed and commercialized an innovative product, which now has a long track record of being used to reduce environmental impacts of boating infrastructure, and his long-term promotion of environmental sustainability.

We would also like to congratulate Oscar Siches for winning the Lifetime Dedication Award.
