The Alqueva Solar Energy Park in Portugal won the European Sustainable Energy Week award in the Innovation category for its hybrid energy project bringing together solar energy, hydropower and battery storage.

The project, also mentioned in one of our spotlights, is the result of a collaboration between industry experts from Seaflex and Rise in Sweden, Isigenere in Spain, Wavec and EDP in Portugal as part of the FRESHER project funded by the European Maritime & Fisheries Fund.

The EUSEW Innovation Award recognises outstanding ongoing or recently completed EU-funded projects that show an original and innovative path towards the clean energy transition.
